    Timbuctu is most of the time assosciated with Camels. Though that is true, the northern Mali is also known for its sand, plastic sacs, land cruisers, tourists and beautiful streets.

    The Timbuctu landscape is flat and the 195 km road between  Douentza and Timbuctu is easy to drive on. The region is also marked by the River Niger.
