The only solution to Nigeria's serial violence in Jos, where thousands of people have been killed is to split the West African country into two regions. This, according to the Libyan President, Muammar Gaddafi will put an end to the repeated bloodshed in the northern Nigerian city and elsewhere in the country.

Gaddafi gave the suggestion while addressing a group of students, some of whom were Nigerians in Tripoli on Monday.
The President said the Nigerian people should follow the lines of religion to split the country into two --one, for the Christians and the other for the Moslems. He believes “Nothing else could stop the bloodshed.”
In his speech, published by the state-controlled news agency --JANA, Gaddafi compared the current situation in Nigeria to the 1974 decision to split the Indian sub-continent into India and Pakistan.
The ex-African Union leader recalled that “before 1945, when massacres by Moslems and Hindus ended only after” the former British colony was split into the present day Pakistan and India. “The partition saved the lives of millions of Hindus and Moslems” he said.
Famed for making wild and controversial statements, Gaddafi once called for the abolishment of Switzerland last year, pointing out that since the country occupied by the trio of Italy, Germany and France, it should be divide among them.
For the second time in the year, sectarian violence broke out in the northern city of Jos, particularly in Dogon-Hauwa village and neighbouring villages on Sunday, March 7th where hundreds of residents were killed.
