A policeman was accidentally smashed to death by a fire brigade’s truck while everyone was busy struggling to fight the huge fire.

The fire razed for more then 30 minutes and destroyed 15 shops and stores. 52 barrels of benzene (petrol) were destroyed, besides other business items.

According to an eye witnesses, the fire started in a benzene store rented by a Congolese woman. The lady blamed her workers for tragedy. “One of them might have left a smouldering butt of cigarette on where some petrol might have spilt during off loading,” she stressed. However, there is a conflicting sources statement given by a near by shop keepers that the fire started from a nearby welding workshop, electric short circuit. It then sparked fire in the benzene area.
